As the Ipsos iris team gets to work on the UKOM offering which goes live in 2021, here’s a summary of our new research partner, and key staff.

Founded in 1975 by Chair and CEO Didier Truchot, Ipsos listed on the Paris stock exchange in 1999. It is the third largest global market research company with over 18,000 staff working in 90 markets for over 5,000 clients. It grew via acquisitions in Europe then North America and Latin America.

The Ipsos philosophy over five decades has been on based four principles: security, simplicity, speed and substance.

Because it measures audiences of media content in more than 70 countries, Ipsos is at the forefront of the latest techniques and methodologies required to measure more platforms, faster and more cheaply.

In the UK Ipsos developed the world’s first large scale, single source, multi platform passive measurement panel, BBC Compass. The challenge for the largest broadcaster in the world was considerable: to understand its audience’s engagement and journey with all content (across TV, radio and BBC Online) and all devices – as opposed to viewing audiences in the existing media currency silos.
