Cookies and log files

Cookies are small text files stored on your computer by a website that assigns a numerical user ID and stores certain information about your online browsing. When we use cookies, we do so to help us recognise you as a prior user of this site. The cookie file does not store your personal information. If you prefer not to receive cookies from our website you can disable their use in your browser settings. By doing so you may reduce the functionality of the web pages you view.

As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes Internet Protocol addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP); referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp and clickstream data.

We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyse trends, to administer the site, to track anonymised user movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We do not link this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information. For further information visit www.allaboutcookies.org.

The following is a list of cookies that may be used by this website:

__utma This cookie is typically written to the browser upon the first visit to a site from that web browser. If the cookie has been deleted by you, and you subsequently visit the site, a new __utma cookie is written with a different unique ID. This cookie is used to determine unique visitors to a site and it is updated with each page view. Additionally, this cookie is provided with a unique ID that Google Analytics uses to ensure both the validity and accessibility of the cookie as an extra security measure.
__utmb This cookie is used to establish and continue a user session with a site. When you view a page on a site, the Google Analytics code attempts to update this cookie. If it does not find the cookie, a new one is written and a new session is established. Each time you visit a different page on a site, this cookie is updated to expire in 30 minutes, thus continuing a single session for as long as user activity continues within 30-minute intervals. This cookie expires when you pause on a page on your site for longer than 30 minutes.__utmcHistorically, this cookie operated in conjunction with the __utmb cookie to determine whether or not to establish a new session for the user. For backwards compatibility purposes with sites still using the urchin.js tracking code, this cookie will continue to be written and will expire when the user exits the browser.
__utmz This cookie stores the type of referral used by the visitor to reach a site, whether via a direct method, a referring link, a website search, or a campaign such as an ad or an email link. It is used to calculate search engine traffic, ad campaigns and page navigation within a site. The cookie is updated with each page view to the site.
exp_tracker End of session. Contains the last 5 pages viewed. Typically used for form or error message returns.
exp_last_visit 1 year. Date of the user’s last visit. Can be shown as a statistic for members and used by the forum to show unread topics for both members and guests.
exp_last_activity 1 year. Records the time of the last page load. Used in conjunction with the last_visit cookie.
exp_cookies_allowed 1 year. Indicates whether the user has given consent for cookies to be set.
accepted_cookie_notice 1 year. Indicates whether the user has actively dismissed the 'Cookies are used on this site' notice.
