Iain Jacob


Iain started as the UKOM board Chair in April 2019, a time when trusted and effective measurement has never been more in demand. He has extensive advertising and media industry experience having been a director of BBH, co-founded a media agency and gone on to run Starcom, Mediavest and Publicis Media both in the UK and at an EMEA level. He holds a number of Chair, NED and Advisory Board positions, including serving on the Digital Advisory Board of Save the Children UK. Iain is married to Kathryn Jacob OBE, has two children and obsesses about cycling.

Ian Dowds

Chief Executive

Ian cut his teeth in media at ITV and went on to leadership roles at MindShare, Turner Broadcasting System, Specific Media, Trinity Mirror and InMobi. Appointed UKOM’s first CEO in 2015, Ian focuses on setting the vision, raising the profile and working with the leadership team to deliver an outstanding online audience measurement service on behalf of the UK industry. Away from the office, Ian is a father of three daughters, certain that Dorset is the best place to live in the UK, and a passionate fan of Scottish rugby.

Scott Fleming

General Manager

Scott’s role is twofold, being UKOM's General Manager and chair of the Technical Board. Scott has over 25 years of experience working in various research and insight roles across television, radio and online in addition to experience of the press and publishing world through other consultancy work with AOP.

His other interests include live music, cooking and spending time on his motorcycle.

Julie Forey

Director of Insight

Julie’s role is to uncover consumer insights from the data and to help drive education and understanding of the value of UKOM to the industry. Julie has held senior research and insight roles at NOP (now GFK), Carlton Television, Microsoft Advertising, Xbox and AOL. Julie has a passion for football but now that her knees have given up, spends her time watching rather than playing. She is a (long-suffering) Arsenal season ticket holder and lives in London with her husband and two young children.

Richard Somerville

Technical Manager

Having trained at Millward Brown and, via Ipsos MORI, assumed the role of Board Director New Media at GfK NOP Consumer from 2002-2007, Richard has been conducting research projects about digital media since 1996. His specialisms include usability, online product and pricing development, online panel build and maintenance and audience measurement. At UKOM, he is responsible for leading technical evaluations of supplier products. An early digital convert, he also enjoys paper-based media, and music – both live and on his antique hi-fi separates.
