Grocery sector insight and innovative editorial analysis took centre stage in Q2, as WPP and The Independent claimed UKOM’s Ipsos iris Ace Awards for Q2 2026.
Celebrating original and effective use of UKOM-endorsed Ipsos iris data, the awards highlight noteworthy examples of individuals using data within publishers, agencies and for clients.
The wins are the first Aces for WPP Media and The Independent and recognise the work of two entrants:
Joseph Chambers, Principal Insight Executive at WPP Media: for his analysis of UK online grocery shopping behaviour, exploring how audiences engage with leading supermarket brands and uncovering the extent of audience overlap and exclusivity across the sector.
Michael Folorunso, Junior Insight Analyst at The Independent: for using audience data to shape editorial decision-making, uncovering the behaviours and content preferences that drive audience growth and engagement across The Independent, Bulletin and the wider news market.
Ian Dowds, CEO of UKOM, who judged the awards alongside Ipsos, commented on the increasing role that Ipsos iris data plays in enabling meaningful, data-driven decision-making:
“There is a treasure trove of learning amongst the Aces entries which reminds us of the importance of good strategy and insight based on trusted data. Congratulations to Joseph and Michael, two very worthy winners.”
